Bill has been investing in Eastern Europe since 1992. He joined EBRD as part of the Hungary and later telecoms teams just as the region was opening. He then moved to Baring Private Equity Partners (BPEP) as a Partner to raise and invest the €86m Baring Central European Fund (BCEF). In 2004, he and his partners purchased the Central European business from BPEP, renaming it Baring Corilius Private Equity. The business was sold to SGAM in 2005, when he took over direct responsibility for the Eastern European Investment process and its €156m fund. After SGAM’s transformation into Amundi, he led the spin-out of the Eastern European direct investment business to create V4C. In late 2017, V4C held the first closing on first independent fund, V4C Poland Plus and is now raising its next fund.

Bill has a track record of active involvement on the Boards of investee companies in Poland, Romania, Hungary, and Bulgaria. He served two terms as a member of Invest Europe’s Mid-Market Platform Council from 2012 - 2018, as well as its Professional Standards Committee, where he was Chairman from 2015-2017. He is currently the Chairman of their CEE TaskForce.
